SPEAKING OF SCIENCE, July 27th, 2023, Embassy of Spain in Tokyo, with the collaboration of the Association of Spanish Scientists in Japan
The intensive exploitation of fossil fuels by humanity has brought our ecosystem to the brink of catastrophic climate change. As a consequence, the global climate undergoes more and more severe changes year after year. It is therefore a challenge to curb anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate the transition of modern society towards a more sustainable and circular economy with energy free from fossil fuels. In this context, this Speaking of Science intends to discuss and show some perspectives of the energy future in Europe and Japan, in addition to highlighting the specific context in Spain. Hydrogen technology is considered of great relevance for the ecological transition, therefore, the invited experts will speak to us and discuss how these technological challenges are being addressed from fundamental science in academia and research centers to work with industrial partners.
