Scientifiques travaillant dans le domaine du Cancer.

The Paris University Hospitals (Assistance Publique-Hopitaux de Paris, AP-HP) are building a research centre at the Tenon Hospital, 4 rue de la Chine, 75020 Paris, integrated in the Eastern Group of AP-HP and the Pierre and Marie Curie Faculty of Medicine. This call for applications for research teams and/or individual scientists working on the fundamental and clinical aspects of cancer is the result of a partnership between AP-HP, Inserm and UPMC.

The Tenon Hospital plays a leading role in cancer care, with reference medical, surgery and technical departments. The selected teams will benefit from the scientific expertise of the Pierre and Marie Curie University and Faculty of Medicine. This research building will offer at least 500 sq.m. for the establishment of new teams, in a high level scientific, technological and medical environment. The teams will have access to the various technological platforms located in the research building at the Tenon Hospital or set up by the Federative Institute of Research, IFR65 working on Cancer, Inflammation, Hormones and Host-Pathogen Relations, at the Tenon and Saint-Antoine Hospitals. More specifically, they will have access to: a state-of-the-art cell imaging platform (confocal and electronic microscopy); a positron-emission tomography (PET) centre for in vivo imaging of small mammals, with equipment for the investigation of small animals (including hemodynamic studies, morphology and pathology, metabolism and endocrinology, laser microdissection); and to a proteomic platform that includes mass spectrometry.

The teams will have access to a conventional and a transgenic animal house with a total surface area of 350 sq.m., as well as shared resources: library, technical rooms, a meeting hall and administrative rooms. The organization of the research building is based on the development of a high level scientific research on cancer. The teams will be encouraged to develop their research program in close conjunction with the clinical and biological research departments located at the Tenon Hospital. Applications from both individual researchers and existing research teams will be considered. An international jury will select the successful applicants, who will have to become certified by scientific and medical institutions. The selected candidates will benefit from all the facilities and services offered by Inserm, UPMC and the Eastern Group of AP-HP. In addition, there will be the possibility of competing for permanent positions within the University and University hospitals as well as for research support for the new teams.

Applicants must send a CV, a list of publications and a cover letter to : Monsieur le Professeur Serge Uzan Doyen de la Faculte de Medecine Pierre et Marie Curie Paris-6 :
